Globe Telecom announced that they will offer the new iPad starting May 29 with their Tattoo Data Plans.
"We're very excited to launch the incredible new iPad in the Philippines," said Peter Bithos, senior adviser for Consumer Business of Globe Telecom. "Customers using our network on their new iPad will experience great value Tattoo data plans and amazing speed for an unbeatable user experience."
In it's press release, Globe mentioned that users subscribed on their data plans will be able to enjoy wireless HSPA+ speeds of up to 42Mbps on it's network. Yes, Globe will not have the LTE capable iPad for us. The question that's remaining to be answered yet is where in the Philippines is their 42Mbps HSPA+ network available. It would be better if they will provide a coverage maps for us to check.
For those who has been in a cave, Apple announced the new iPad last March. It comes with a new high-resolution Retina screen at 2048x1536 pixels. It has an upgraded iSight camera at 5 Megapixels with the same sensor as the iPhone 4S. In the US, the new iPad can enjoy fast LTE connectivity.
