Earlier this morning, Samsung has finally taken the wraps off its latest flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S 4. As what we’ve already seen on the leaked photos, the Galaxy S 4 is pretty much the same as the Galaxy S III when it comes to design standpoint. There’s the familiar curvy corners and the textured coating.
The Galaxy S 4 boasts of a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED screen — that’s 1920x1080 with a pixel density of 441ppi. Despite having a larger screen, it has retained the size footprint of the Galaxy S III. In fact, the Galaxy S4 is physically less than it’s predecessor. It’s lighter in weight, slimmer, and narrower. Under the hood, there’s a 1.6GHz octa-core (read: 8 core) processor ticking in along with 2GB of RAM. In some markets, probably the US, it will have a 1.9GHz quad-core processor. It will come with 16/32/64GB internal memory and a microSD slot which can accommodate another 64GB.
A full set of connectivity features comes in the Galaxy S 4. There’s a quad-band HSPA+ up to 42Mbps and 4G LTE which Samsung says supports up to 6 different bands. There’s also Wi-Fi a//b/g/n/ac, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 which can be paired with smart accessories, and Infrared for remote controls. All of that set of internals will be powered by a 2,600mAh battery.
A lot of other software features has been introduced by Samsung in the Galaxy S 4 too. They are as follows:
Dual Camera – allows simultaneous use of front-facing and main cameras to take a photo.
Dual Video Call – allows you to show what’s around you in a video call using the two cameras.
