Apple to Announce iPhone 5 on October 4

AllThingsD reports that the latest generation iPhone dubbed iPhone 5 will be announced on October 4, with the new Apple CEO taking up the stage.

There has been so many reports since the last few weeks and months about the launch date of the new iPhone since it will be not announced on the usual June-July timeframe based on previous' Apple tradition. But now we are getting a solid confirmation that it will be unveiled on the next 2 weeks. The iPhone 5 is expected to have a new redesign with thinner body more of like an iPod touch with tapering edges, a larger touchscreen which will be probably at 3.7-4.0 inches in size, an upgraded 8 megapixel camera with LED flash among other new features. Of course, it will run the latest iOS 5.
