Nokia Car Mode for Symbian Belle Announced

Nokia announced today their latest offering for the Symbian Belle OS. The next major update will support the Nokia Car Mode in which you may connect your phone running the said OS. The app makes it easier for drivers and passengers to access maps, satellite navigation (provided by Nokia Drive), traffic updates, music and voice calls when they are in vehicles. One advantage here is you may use your Nokia phone as a GPS Navigator device, no need for separate GPS devices. And while driving and navigating, you can do other phone functions too, like calling, playing music, and getting the latest traffic information. The app is written in Qt, thus, it will run across multiple platforms, though only Symbian Belle and MeeGo (for the N9) is mentioned as of this time. Another thing is that this project was previously known as the Terminal Mode, which was reported to us back in March. It will be available on Q4 2011.
