Confirmed: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update instead of 4.2.2

Australian carrier Telstra has just confirmed that Samsung has decided to cancel the Android 4.2.2 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and go for a “newer version of Android” instead.

While no specific version has been revealed, the Galaxy Note 2 could instead get the upcoming Android 4.3 update, which is expected to be announced next week by Google. This possibility is not too far-fetched considering that there was already a leaked 4.3 ROM for the Galaxy S4, which implies that Samsung could already have an early copy of the 4.3 source from Google.

The carrier did not give any availability date though it could arrive on the end of July or on August.
